Friday Late: My East is Your West

Join us for an evening of workshops, installations and performances celebrating South Asian diaspora culture including a live music and DJ collaboration with Dialled In – a festival focusing on South Asian creative talent.

To mark the 75th anniversary of independence of India and Pakistan, this Friday Late will be a celebration of the South Asian diaspora in the UK, embracing our shared heritage beyond borders and geographies. Spanning East where we have roots and deep connections, to West where we now call home.

Dance along to DJ sets and live performances from Grewal Twins, Petit Oiseau, and Qazi & Qazi and conversations with Rahemur Rahman, Manara, Ahadadream and Daytimers DJs. See films Tiger Strike Red by Sophia Al-Maria and Zimmers of Southall by Hark1karan, as well as gallery tours, installations, workshops and VR experience, Child of Empire

This will also be the launch of Osman Yousefzada’s trio of site-specific interventions What Is Seen and What Is Not and a performance conceived by him in collaboration with choreographer Dickson Mbi and creative producer Farooq Chaudhry.
